introduction
Steels containing mainly carbon as an alloying element are called carbon steels. They contain about 1.2% manganese and 0.4% silicon. Nickel, aluminum, chromium, copper and molybdenum are also present in small amounts in carbon steels.
AISI 1008 carbon steel has excellent weldability, which includes throw, tip, spot and melt, and solderability. The following datasheet will provide more details on AISI 1008 carbon steel.
