Powell Electronics now offers the new HYJ line of IP69 / IP69K stainless steel junction box housings for hygienic applications from Hammond Manufacturing.
Ideal for applications where maintaining hygiene standards and preventing contamination are of great importance (e.g. in food processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing), the HYJ range enclosures have been designed to withstand regular high temperatures, as well as regular high pressure washes. They also have no areas (like slotted screw heads, quarter-turn latches, or welded-in mounting brackets) where contaminants can collect and all sides are angled to ensure water flows out. quickly.
Available in five sizes, from 202mm x 124mm x 102mm, up to 416mm x 338mm x 203mm (height x width x depth), the HYJ series enclosures benefit from a rectangular design, allowing the units to be surface mounted vertically or horizontally, to suit most applications. The cover is secured to the body with, depending on the size, four or six crevice-free hex head bolts fitted with a silicone washer to eliminate potential dirt traps.
The blue colored ‘hygiene’ silicone gasket makes contaminants more visible and is mounted beyond the edges of the door, so that there are no cracks in which dirt can accumulate. To eliminate hard-to-clean areas behind the cabinet, it is mounted on standoffs, available in four different lengths, to ensure the unit is securely attached to the wall for easy washing of all sides.
