Starling has apparently had an “endless demand” to produce a raw version of its Murmur frames since its inception and it can now meet that demand with a limited edition stainless steel version.

The new limited edition Murmur Stainless retains the 140mm rear travel / maximum 160mm front travel of its sound regular counterpart but it now has a front triangle constructed from stainless steel to complement the regular chromoly rear triangle.

Stainless steel is a new material for Starling, but the solid handwork remains.

Stainless steel enables the brand to provide customers with a bare metal look without any oxidation or corrosion that would come from a similar finish on a regular steel bicycle. However, the brand also claims that there are performance benefits as well and that the stainless material takes the “magical” feel of steel to the nth degree. ” For Starling, that means a smoother and more lively ride.

The bike is designed around 29 “wheels and offers 2.6” clearance with compatibility for both Boost and non-Boost axles. The stainless steel edition has a smaller geometric table than normal as it is only available in large or extra large sizes, but some key figures include a head angle of 64 °, a seat angle of 76 , 6 ° and a reach of 485 mm (large size).

Only 15 of these frames will be made and they are available as a frame only, frame plus shock absorber, or with various build kits with prices starting at £ 2,330.
More information is available on the Starling website.
