Mount Prospect, Illinois – AC8020P is intended for high efficiency turning of hard steel (~ 1030), medium and high carbon steel (alloy steel, 1053, 4140, 4137 and 52100 bearing steel). The AC8020P grade fully complements the existing turning solutions of the AC8000P grades (AC8015P, AC8025P and AC8035P) for machining steel.
The new shade is highlighted by the increased strength of the alumina (Al2O3) layer for better chip control and highlights the golden color of the surface for better visibility of wear. AC8020P has shown results of over 2.5 times the chipping resistance compared to conventional grades. EGU is the recommended first chipbreaker and increases cutting speeds. For applications requiring higher feed rates, Sumitomo recommends the EGE chipbreaker.

- AC8020P (for high efficiency) is distinguished by its gold color
