Recently, the Trade Remedies Administration received a dossier requesting exemption from the application of anti-dumping measures for cold-rolled stainless steel products falling within the scope of Decision No. 3162/QD-BCT of 21 October 2019 on the results of the long-term termination review of the imposition of anti-dumping measures on a number of cold-rolled stainless steel products originating in Taiwan (China), the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China.

The product for which exemption from the anti-dumping measures is requested is stainless steel of grade SUS 430. This steel is intended for the manufacture of the washing tub of washing machines with horizontal drums. The volume of derogation requests is around 300 tonnes/year, HS code: 7220.20.10.

Proposed exemption from anti-dumping measures for the production of horizontal drum washing machines

Accordingly, in order to be able to consider an exemption from the application of anti-dumping measures (with restrictions on the volume, the quantity of exempted goods, the exempted object) of the above products, companies that manufacture stainless steel products in Vietnam related to the case should contact the Trade Remedies Administration to receive advice, support and provide the following details:

i) The production and supply capacity of the products requested for the exemption of the national companies. If manufactured or supplied, the company must provide detailed information on the planned capacity, the contract and the sales invoice of the product requested for the exemption;

(ii) Opinions and views on the exemption for the above products.

The deadline for submitting case information is April 25, 2022.
